Training Objective

Fire insurance is one of the main classes of property insurance and requires careful underwriting and rating due to the wide range of risks and perils covered. It also generates some of the largest and most complex claims, often requiring the expertise of specialists such as loss adjusters.

This webinar is designed to enhance participants' understanding and application of underwriting and rating principles for Fire and Business Interruption (BI) Insurance, as well as the effective management of property losses and the claims recovery process.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify risk exposures associated with Fire and Business Interruption insurance policies.
  2. Assess the application of risk management tools to minimize or prevent losses.
  3. Explain the underwriting and rating processes for Fire and Business Interruption risks.

Target Group

This webinar is intended for:

  • Underwriters
  • Claims Handlers
  • Loss Adjusters

Participants should have at least three (3) years of experience in property insurance.


Delivery Method

The webinar will be delivered through Microsoft Teams.

Each session will consist of:

  • A 90-minute presentation by the facilitators
  • A 30-minute interactive Q&A session for questions, comments, and discussions

  • A reliable internet connection
  • A digital device (preferably a laptop or tablet)

CII CPD Accreditation

Delegates attending the Fire and Business Interruption Insurance Webinar may claim up to 16 CPD hours towards the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Member CPD Scheme.
