REINSURANCE PROGRAM DESIGN AND PRICING
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Reinsurance Program Design and Pricing course is designed to equip participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to design effective reinsurance programmes and understand the pricing mechanisms for both proportional and non-proportional reinsurance.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the design of various reinsurance programmes.
- Describe the underwriting process for reinsurance.
- Explain how commissions for proportional treaties are determined.
- Describe the process of calculating premium adjustment rates for different types and layers of non-proportional treaties.
- Calculate the various types of reinsurance premiums.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This training is intended for reinsurance underwriters and accountants with a minimum of three years' experience in underwriting and accounting functions within insurance and reinsurance companies.
LOGISTICS
The training will be delivered through the ZEP-RE Academy LMS. Participants are required to have a reliable internet connection and a digital device, preferably a laptop or tablet.
Each session will consist of:
- A 90-minute presentation by the facilitator.
- A 30-minute interactive Question and Answer session.
DELIVERY
Online via the ZEP-RE Academy Learning Management System (LMS).
CII CPD ACCREDITATION
Participants who complete the Reinsurance Program Design and Pricing course may claim up to 6 CPD hours towards the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) member CPD scheme.
COST
The registration fee is USD 100 per participant.
Payment must be made in full by 21 August 2026. Please note that any bank charges are the responsibility of the participant, and the full registration amount should be credited to the ZEP-RE account.
