AGRICULTURE INSURANCE WEBINAR
AGRICULTURE INSURANCE WEBINAR
Products, Claims, Policy and Implementation
Date: 26–27 November 2026
Time: 11:00 AM EAT | 10:00 AM CAT | 9:00 AM WAT | 8:00 AM GMT
Course Overview
Agricultural insurance is increasingly recognised as a critical tool for strengthening resilience across Africa’s agricultural sector. Climate variability, extreme weather events, pest and disease outbreaks, and market disruptions continue to threaten agricultural production, creating a growing need for scalable risk-transfer solutions that protect farmers, enhance food security, and support sustainable economic growth.
At the same time, innovations such as index-based insurance, digital distribution channels, mobile payments, satellite technology, and public-private partnerships are transforming the design, delivery, and regulation of agricultural insurance across the continent.
This two-day webinar provides participants with practical insights into agricultural insurance products, access and distribution mechanisms, claims management, policy frameworks, and regulatory considerations. It will strengthen participants’ understanding of the key enablers, challenges, and practical approaches required to expand accessible, effective, and sustainable agricultural insurance solutions across African markets.
Course Objectives
By the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
- Explain key agricultural insurance products and their applications.
